VIDEO: Glaucoma care roadmap differs for each patient
Eric E. Schmidt, OD, presented a general roadmap for managing patients with glaucoma at this year’s Vision Expo East, covering diagnosis through treating progressive patients.
“It’s not a cookbook,” Schmidt said. “There’s no recipe for treating glaucoma, but the presentation is going to give you some hints about where to go and how to start.”
He added that the overview for glaucoma care includes looking for success in therapy, considering when to switch to a different type of therapy, recognizing side effects and setting target IOPs for certain patients.
