Noel A. Brennan, MScOptom, PhD, FAAO, presented a poster at this year’s ARVO virtual meeting that focused on the increasing prevalence of high myopia even among adults that may affect disease rates in the near future.

“It seems that we are seeing increasing amounts of high myopia continuing after the age of 20, which suggests there is an ongoing, slow potential axial elongation happening amongst adults,” Brennan said. “We think this is significant because we may have underestimated future projections of disease state associated with myopia.”
