The American Optometric Association announced that this year’s Optometry’s Meeting was relocated from Anaheim, Calif., to Denver. The dates remain the same: June 24 to 26.

The AOA stated that the location change followed an extensive review of potential venues and reopening statuses of various communities. They selected the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, which has a 5-star certification from the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment and distinctions from ASM Global and GBAC STAR.

“It’s finally time that we come together, convening our optometry community and leaders for Optometry’s Meeting 2021 to celebrate the incredible resilience and compassion demonstrated by our members, as well as look forward and plan for an even brighter future,” AOA President William T. Reynolds, OD, said in an announcement to members. “Let me be the first to assure you that the AOA is taking the appropriate steps to ensure we can do this with the utmost health and safety in mind.”

Additionally, the AOA announced that the meeting will offer a “hybrid version” of select education and professional development courses offered both in-person and via live broadcast.
