The Contact Lens Institute announced that it will launch an initiative to promote healthy contact lens wear and care habits this fall.

Following the CDC’s Contact Lens Health Week, eye care professionals (ECPs) are being asked to provide input in helping shape the program via an online survey, according to a press release from the institute.

“Many of the 45 million Americans who enjoy the benefits of contact lenses do their best to follow good practices, yet we know there are always opportunities to reinforce even better behaviors,” Rick Weisbarth, OD, board chairman of the Contact Lens Institute, said in the release. “The Contact Lens Institute program will provide ECPs with compelling tools to help facilitate health and safety conversations with current and new wearers.”
