Bausch + Lomb received 510(k) clearance from the FDA for the company’s Infuse daily disposable silicone hydrogel contact lenses.

The contact lens material, kalifilcon A, was designed to help patients with dry eye complications for all-day use, the company said in a press release.

“Bausch + Lomb continues to push the innovation curve in the contact lens space with the FDA’s clearance of Bausch + Lomb Infuse,” Joe Gordon, U.S. president of Bausch + Lomb, said in the release. “We are excited to add this breakthrough new [silicone hydrogel] daily contact lens to our portfolio and provide the outstanding health, vision and comfort that practitioners expect and patients deserve from Bausch + Lomb.

The company anticipates the Infuse line will be available to eye care practitioners in the second half of 2020.
