Johnson & Johnson Vision Care Inc. introduced Acuvue RevitaLens Multi-Purpose Disinfecting Solution for reusable contact lenses.

This is the company’s first extension of its Acuvue brand name beyond contact lenses, Johnson & Johnson said in a press release.

The RevitaLens provides “peroxide-quality disinfection” in a multipurpose solution, according to the company.

During product testing, 90% of contact lens wearers said it was effective at keeping their contact lenses comfortable, and 94% said it was effective at keeping them clean, the company said.

“The addition of Acuvue RevitaLens MPDS to our portfolio is an exciting advancement. It’s the first contact lens solution progressive enough to carry the Acuvue brand name,” Thomas Swinnen, president, North America, Johnson & Johnson Vision, said in the release.

The company said that RevitaLens MPDS, which can be used with all reusable contact lenses, is now available at major retailers nationwide.
