LAS VEGAS – Luneau Technology announced the availability of two new innovations in diagnostic eye care here at Vision Expo West.

The new Dry Eye Module can be added to the new VX120+ Anterior Segment Analyzer, and the Eye Refract provides full refractions that can be delegated to a technician.

The Eye Refract, combined with the new VX25 Acuity Chart, provides accurate and reproducible refraction results on an instrument table only 43 inches long, Luneau President Dan McNulty told Primary Care Optometry News.

McNulty said that a study presented at the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology meeting concluded that the Eye Refract was as accurate as three optometrists in testing ocular aberrometry.

The Eye Refract also comes with a Visionix Tablet that guides the technician through the 4-minute refraction and can send the prescription to the doctor for confirmation.

A dry eye module has also been added to the Visionix VX 120 Wavefront Anterior Segment Analyzer. The new module can test noninvasive tear break-up time, image meibomian glands and measure tear meniscus height, according to company literature. Patients can be shown their initial test results on the color monitor and can view treatment results over time. – by Nancy Hemphill, ELS, FAAO
