LAS VEGAS – Evaluating the pupil is an often-neglected procedure, according to Mario Gutierrez, OD, here at Vision Expo West.
He referred to a study that showed an automated pupillograph will pick up 56% of afferent pupillary defects in patients with glaucoma, whereas the swinging flashlight tests only picks up 29%.
Disclosure: Gutierrez reports he is a speaker for Konan.
