VIDEO: OCTA provides new information for glaucoma, retina care
NEW YORK – OCT angiography provides clinical information that was not previously accessible, Julie Rodman, OD, FAAO, said here at Vision Expo East.
In addition to its utility in patients with diabetes and age-related macular degeneration, “it’s newest use is in glaucoma, showing vascular changes in radial peripapillary capillaries that happen before we see changes in the ganglion cell complex and retinal nerve fiber layer analysis,” she said.
Editor's note: Rodman's financial disclosures have been updated. Rodman reports she is a consultant to Optovue.
