LAS VEGAS – Compulink Healthcare Solutions launched Advantage Smart Practice, which includes artificial intelligence-enabled features, here at Vision Expo West.

Advantage uses AI technology and real-time data from the clinic to automate tasks such as billing and eliminate steps to improve patient flow, according to a press release from the company.

Patients can fill out demographic information prior to arriving at the office, and staff members can pull that information in, thereby reducing errors, Compulink director of sales, Sondra Carrube, told Primary Care Optometry News.

With Advantage Smart Workflow, the system knows which patients are being seen based on their room assignment and automatically displays their record when needed, according to the press release.

It lets doctors and staff know who is waiting and when they will be brought back, Carrube said.

With the Advantage PracticeWatch task automation engine, staff can schedule eligibility, claims submission and remittance posting to run unattended, according to Compulink.

The system can also provide targeted marketing based on patient symptoms and sales history, Carrube added, with Advantage Smart Patient Engagement.

“It helps increase business by increasing optical sales,” Carrube said.

“We expect this release to take our clients’ efficiency across their entire clinic to a whole new level,” CEO and Compulink founder Link Wilson said in the release. “Our Smart billing features will reduce the amount of time required to generate and work claims by about 90%. With our Smart workflow engine, we’re looking for patient throughput to increase by as much as 15% or more. And with our mobile patient engagement, the ability to engage patients in their own care while growing your patient base is really limitless.” – by Nancy Hemphill, ELS, FAAO
