VIDEO: OCT-A detects vessel changes earlier

LAS VEGAS – Julie Rodman, OD, spoke here at Vision Expo West on how she uses OCT and OCT angiography together in her practice.

OCT-A provides a 3-D volumetric angiogram of the retina and choroid, using sequential B-scans to look at the differences in signal and, hence, blood flow between the retina and choroid, she said.

Rodman said OCT-A provides a “sneak peek that we can’t see just by looking at a B-scan... This can be a game-changer in the way we take care of patients.”
