DENVER – Clark Chang, OD, MSA, MSc, FAAO, shared take-home pearls from his two presentations on corneal cross-linking and contact lens fitting after CXL at Optometry's Meeting.

He said the topic of unilateral keratoconus came up in his session. "We should technically always treat eyes as if keratoconus applies [to each]," he said.

The insurance movement toward CXL treatment seems to be going a lot smoother, he said. "Going forward, the hope is there will be easier recognition and coverage with insurance for our keratoconus patients as well as ectasia patients following surgery."
