ABB Optical Group announced that it will acquire Glimpse Live, which provides data and analytics for the eye care industry.

Glimpse was specifically created to allow business owners to more easily measure performance, locate opportunities for growth and predict future trends, while simultaneously comparing results with other businesses, according to a press release from ABB Optical Group. Its software coordinates with electronic health records and practice management systems.

“There is tremendous synergy between ABB Optical and Glimpse,” Casey Hedberg, founder of Glimpse and soon-to-be managing director of Glimpse once it is acquired by ABB Optical Group, said in the release. “We are both committed to providing eye care practitioners with the tools they need to succeed in business and to offering exceptional customer service.”

By utilizing Glimpse software, ABB Optical Group will be better able to provide industry-leading data and practice management solutions, according to the release. Furthermore, Glimpse notes that practices that use its software daily experience a growth of 15% to 30% on average. One study suggested that patient revenue grew by an average of $50,000 year over year.

“Glimpse is a fantastic fit for ABB Optical,” Brad Weinbrum, president of ABB Optical Group, said in the release. “By providing practices with a full range of metrics, including frames and lens sales in addition to contact lens trends, we will help eye practitioners accelerate their growth and drive an increase in profitability.”
