Erin Kenny, OD, outlines her talk on retinal implants at the New Jersey Academy of Optometry fall dinner meeting. She said Argus II (Second Sight) is the only FDA-approved retinal implant in the U.S. and mentions a successful case study.
Rehabilitation is a key aspect in the process, she said. Kenny is the chief of the William Feinbloom Vision Rehabilitation Center at the Eye Institute of Salus University in Philadelphia.
