LAS VEGAS – CooperVision announced here at Vision Expo West the launch of its third Best Practices initiative to recognize the innovative and unexpected ways that eye care professionals advance the profession and provide the best care to patients.

Since the inception of the program, 20 eye care practices throughout the U.S. have been named Best Practices honorees.

All U.S. optometry practices currently fitting contact lenses are eligible to apply. Candidates can submit profiles and stories, sharing insight and experiences in three pillars: innovation, industry leadership and patient experience. Stories can be submitted via written response or a video at eyecarebestpractices.com.

“We’re looking for people to talk about the patient experience, innovation and new thinking,” Michele Andrews, OD, director of professional affairs, North America, CooperVision, told Primary Care Optometry News in an interview here at Vision Expo.

“Last year we saw a lot of involvement in community engagement,” she said. “They were inspiring stories.

Applications will be accepted through Oct. 31.

Andrews said the 10 honorees will be announced in early 2018.

“To be honored as one of the Best Practices has been extremely rewarding to us this year,” Stephanie Woo, OD, of Havasu Eye Center in Lake Havasu, Ariz., said in a press release from CooperVision.

“It is exciting to let patients know they are receiving eye care from the best in the nation, right here in our small town... It is a testament to the fact that no matter who you are and where you live, you can offer patients an excellent eye care experience with superior technology, innovation, and service.” – by Abigail Sutton and Nancy Hemphill, ELS, FAAO
