CooperVision announced that its Unilateral Pricing Policy no longer applies to the Biofinity Energys contact lens.

CooperVision Americas President Jerry Warner, in a letter to eye care professionals, said that the company has experienced an “extremely positive” response to the summer 2016 launch of the Energys lens, which is designed for digital device users. As part of its introduction, the Biofinity Energys was added to CooperVision’s Unilateral Pricing Policy (UPP).

“Considering that Biofinity Energys is now well-established in the market, the time has come to remove UPP, effective immediately,” Warner said in the letter.

He added that CooperVision will continue to assess the value of UPP for future products.

“Our teams continue to enhance programs that help you provide competitively priced contact lenses to your patients, as well as increase lens fits, profitability and patient retention,” Warner said. “Whether we are launching product and service innovations, creating sustainable pricing and rebate programs, or advocating for optometry’s ever-advancing role among our legislative leaders, the people of CooperVision believe that a successful future lies in continued collaboration with eye care professionals.”
