WASHINGTON – John Rumpakis, OD, MBA, spoke here at Optometry’s Meeting about how to prevent and survive carrier audits.
“The only thing the auditor can use against you is your medical record,” he said. “What do you have for your defense? That medical record.” He advised establishing medical necessity for everything you do and appropriately select the level of care you provide.
