WASHINGTON – Nate Lighthizer, OD, gave a workshop on lasers here at Optometry’s Meeting, discussing and teaching ODs how to perform selective laser trabeculoplasty and laser peripheral iridotomy. He noted the value of giving patients the choice of drops or laser as first-line therapy for glaucoma.

“Optometrists have the vast majority of this training already from optometry school,” he said.
