WASHINGTON – No matter where the inflammation associated with meibomian gland dysfunction is coming from, you need to attack it at its base, Doug Devries, OD, said here at Optometry’s Meeting.

He recommends HydroEye (ScienceBased Health), which contains gamma linolenic acid. Research shows that HydroEye increases tear production and reduces inflammation, “which is what we’re trying to calm down,” he said.
