NEPTUNE, N.J. – Anu Laul, OD, FAAO, shares a case of a patient experiencing long-term ocular nerve pain despite healing of the corneal surface after a cleaning device exploded on his face and eyes.

Here at the New Jersey Academy of Optometry continuing education course, Laul said he and his colleagues postulated that the pain was similar to that of fibromyalgia or overactive corneal nerves and chose to treat with gabapentin.
