Bausch + Lomb announced the launch of its new contact lens, Ultra for Astigmatism, a monthly silicone hydrogel combining its MoistureSeal technology and OpticAlign design, which aids in stability to promote a successful first fit, according the press release.

The MoistureSeal technology helps maintain 95% of lens moisture for a full 16 hours through a unique two-phase polymerization process, according to the company. The OpticAlign design was developed after extensively analyzing, testing and optimizing numerous lens geometries to determine which performed best with the Ultra contact lens material.

Eye care professionals report rotation at dispensing of 5 degrees or less for 94% of patients when fitting Ultra for Astigmatism, according to the release.
