Subscription contact lens service Hubble closes $16.5 million in financing

Hubble, a new direct-to-consumer contact lens brand, announced the close of a $16.5 million Series A investment round led by FirstMark Capital, according to a press release.

Hubble, which launched in 2016, has acquired thousands of customers each week and has a network of hundreds of partner doctors, according to the release.

This financing brings Hubble’s total financing to $23.7 million, which will allow the company to invest in marketing and advertising initiatives and to purchase additional inventory of toric lenses to support customers with astigmatism. Hubble also plans to roll out new products such as eye drops, it said.

Through its subscription service, Hubble offers consumers affordable, FDA-approved contact lenses with “minimal hassle and maximum convenience,” according to the release.

The contact lenses are available at the company’s website for $30/month subscription. New customers get their first 2 weeks of lenses free, minus the cost of shipping, and can cancel at any time.

Hubble said it is dedicated to making it affordable and convenient to purchase high-quality contact lenses for a fair price.
