ATLANTA – Elizabeth Yeu, MD, a panelist for a SECO special session on cornea, said preoperative evaluation and care of the patient with astigmatism who is undergoing refractive cataract surgery is the best form of medicine.

“Surgical technique is important,” she added, “making sure we’re identifying the true steep meridian and marking the patients appropriately. But nothing is more important than making sure we’re achieving the outcomes we want postoperatively.”
