Envision announced that its Evening with Envision Phantom of the Opera Gala raised $446,000, making it the most successful event in its history.

All donations will go toward funding programs and services that improve the quality of life and provide inspiration for those who are blind or visually impaired through employment, outreach, rehabilitation, education and research, according to a press release from Envision.

Proceeds from the gala will support a multitude of programs and services, such as research into ways to better confront the challenges associated with blindness and low vision in addition to educating medical and academic professionals to help patients face these challenges. Envision’s programs also help support a child development center that pairs children who are blind or visually impaired with typically sighted peers, according to the release.

Carl and Gigi Allen received Envision’s Heroes of Hope Award in appreciation of their involvement with multiple Envision programs supported through the Heroes of Hope Annual Fund, which provides for direct client services that touch the lives of newborns, children, adults and seniors.

Eby Construction was presented with the Envision Philanthropy Award, recognizing the impact the company has had on Envision’s ongoing efforts through gifts, donations and support.

Envision is one of the largest employers of individuals with vision loss in the nation, according to the release.
