VIDEO: Sliding herniations contribute to POAG pressure

ANAHEIM, Calif. – According to research Thomas F. Freddo, OD, PhD, shared here at the Optometric Glaucoma Society meeting, "In glaucomatous eyes, numerous collector channels are fully or slightly obstructed and would suggest that a sliding herniation process can give rise to permanent obstruction of the collector channels."
He said this "is certainly a contributor to the pressure we see in primary open-angle glaucoma."
