Contact Lens Health Week to support awareness for children, young adults

Bausch + Lomb plans to provide for students and eye care providers this upcoming school year by offering a portfolio of contact lenses and by supporting the upcoming CDC-organized Contact Lens Health Week, Aug. 22 to 26, according to the company.

In addition to offering a same-day dispensing program and patient rebate, the company announced its support of Contact Lens Health Week as a part of its focus on developing vision health awareness for children and young adults. The week’s program will cover three key areas: healthy contact lens hygiene habits; proper use, care and storage of contact lenses and supplies; and regular visits to an eye care provider.

The CDC is also partnering with several organizations for the health awareness week, including: the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s Research, Regulatory, and External Scientific Relations Committee; the American Academy of Optometry’s Section on Cornea, Contact Lens and Refractive Technologies; the American Optometric Association’s Contact Lens and Cornea Section; the Contact Lens Association of Ophthalmologists’ Scientific Program; as well as the Contact Lens Society of America and National Academy of Opticianry.
