Smart Vision brings self-guided vision test to optical stores

Smart Vision Labs unveiled its SVOne Enterprise, a self-guided, proprietary smartphone-based autorefractor.

The technology is designed for use in optical stores with no eye doctor on the premises, according to the company’s website.

SVOne Enterprise determines refractive error via a self-guided vision testing system based on wavefront aberrometry, the company explained in a press release. The company notes on its website that the technology provides a refraction only, not an eye health exam.
Data is sent for analysis to a remote network of eye doctors who provide eyeglass prescriptions through email within 1 day.

Smart Vision Labs was founded in 2013 and has sold more than 500 SVOne handheld autorefractors, with more than 40,000 refractions completed globally by the company and its partners.
