Prokera successfully treats abrasions, erosions
BOSTON – Marc R. Bloomenstein, OD, said the Prokera Slim from BioTissue is his “go-to” choice when treating patients with abrasions or corneal erosions. He said he inserted one in the exhibit hall here at Optometry’s Meeting.
“Prokera stimulates the stem cells to regenerate, decreasing inflammation and decreasing scarring,” he said. This cryopreserved amniotic membrane is a good choice when other products may not produce a response as quickly as needed, he added.
