Bausch + Lomb introduced PreserVision AREDS 2 Formula + Multivitamin, which contains the Age-Related Eye Disease Study 2 formula with other vitamins and minerals typically found in daily multivitamins.

The company said in a press release that its goal is to make it easier for people to take supplements by reducing the number of pills they need every day.

The formulation is free of beta carotene and contains a high level of vitamin D to support the needs of older adults, according to the release.

PreserVision AREDS 2 Formula + Multivitamin was developed based on consumer feedback that showed 90% of AREDS2 study participants also took a daily multivitamin.

“We hope that PreserVision AREDS 2 Formula + Multivitamin makes it easier for people to add PreserVision, as recommended by their eye care professional, to their current regimen of supplements that often includes a daily multivitamin,” Valeant Consumer Healthcare general manager, Joe Gordon, said in the release.
