NEW YORK – EyeCare Prime, a subsidiary of CooperVision, announced here at Vision Expo East the expansion of its LensFerry service to offer patients subscription-based ordering of their 1-day contact lenses.

LensFerry S is now available to all eye care practices in the U.S., according to a press release from CooperVision. Participating practices can enroll patients who wear 1-day lenses in the subscription service to receive quarterly deliveries for automatic monthly payments.

Michele Andrews, OD, director of professional affairs, North America, CooperVision, told Primary Care Optometry News that the service can be used for any 1-day brand, not just CooperVision products.

“CooperVision handles the back end, including credit card issues, and the doctors control the pricing,” she said.

When a prescription expires, everything goes back through the eye care practitioner, she said.

CooperVision noted in the press release that for every completed patient annual subscription through LensFerry S, EyeCare Prime will make a donation to Optometry Giving Sight for an eye exam. – by Nancy Hemphill, ELS, FAAO
