Alcon continues support of Think About Your Eyes campaign

Alcon announced its continued support of the Think About Your Eyes national public awareness campaign with a donation of $2 million, totaling $4 million since 2014, according to a press release from the company.

The campaign is designed to educate the public about the benefits of eye health and vision care and to promote the importance of scheduling annual comprehensive eye exams.

Think About Your Eyes has employed multiple avenues of public outreach, including: national television, radio, print and online/digital advertising, including its own website.

The campaign encourages consumers to use the eye care provider locator tool on its website, ThinkAboutYourEyes.com. The site has received more than 2 million visitors since its launch.

According to the press release, annual eye exams in the U.S. grew by 3% in 2015, following the activation of the national media campaign.

“Our passion is helping people see, look and feel their best, and this campaign’s efforts align with our goals at Alcon,” Eric Bruno, vice president and general manager, Alcon Vision Care U.S., said in the release. “So many eye health and other health issues can be uncovered through a comprehensive eye exam, and this campaign helps to educate the public about the important of eye exams as part of their health care routine.”
