Bio-Tissue announced the introduction of Prokera Clear, a part of the company’s Prokera biologic corneal bandage product line, according to a press release.

Prokera Clear was designed for ambulatory, chronic ocular surface disease, corneal-involved dry eye patients and post-LASIK/PRK patients.

“[Prokera Clear is] ideal for those patients with the need to maintain their vision during treatment, and like the entire Prokera product line, Prokera Clear reduces inflammation, prevents haze and, and expedites healing,” Tom Daniells, chief commercial officer of Bio-Tissue, said in the release.

Prokera therapeutic medical devices promote healing while providing relief from symptoms of chronic ocular surface disease. The products contain amniotic membrane tissue that use natural therapeutic actions to help damaged eyes heal faster, according to the release.

Prokera Clear uses the central Clear-View Aperture and, like the rest of the line, has no risk of IOP spikes or delayed healing, the company said.
