VIDEO: Look beyond visual acuity in children with concussion
ATLANTA – Children with concussion will commonly have saccadic deficit, accommodative deficit and convergence insufficiency, Christina Master, MD, said here at SECO. Master referred to a study that showed 69% of children with concussion had one of these three diagnoses.
These conditions often accompany vestibular deficits, including symptoms with vestibular ocular reflex testing and balance deficits that can affect their performance in school, she said.Disclosure: Master reported no relevant financial disclosures.
