Employees of CooperVision, along with the company itself, have donated $115,000 to Optometry Giving Sight for the 2014 World Sight Day Challenge, according a press release from CooperVision.

As detailed in the release, CooperVision matched employee donations, which were raised by various activities, including jeans days, bracelet and t-shirt sales, raffles and a 5K walk/run.

"Our purpose is to help improve the way people see each day,” Dan McBride, president of CooperVision, said in the release. “The people of CooperVision show their commitment to this ideal in everything they do, including rallying to support the incredible efforts of Optometry Giving Sight. The 2014 World Sight Day Challenge donation is our most substantial yet – equivalent to providing 23,000 eye exams to those in need.”

In addition to this donation, CooperVision noted in the release that it contributes other funds via industry initiatives. One of these initiatives allows contact lens wearing patients to donate rebates to Optometry Giving Sight, which has resulted in more than $200,000 in donations.
