ABO offers exam in January
The American Board of Optometry's next board certification exam period is January 2015, the organization announced in a press release.
The program is certified by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies and includes a maintenance of certification process that is approved by the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, according to the ABO.
The ABO said there are currently 2,781 diplomates and 2,275 active candidates, and the pass rate for the exam is 93.1%.
Candidates must accrue at least 150 “residency or equivalent” points; pass the board certification exam, which is offered every January and July; and demonstrate ongoing learning and enrichment through the maintenance of certification program, the group said.
