Essilor inaugurated the Centre for Innovation and Technologies, an ophthalmic optics research campus, the company recently announced.

The campus, located in Créteil, France, was created to centralize various research and engineering teams, according to the press release.

As detailed in the release, the consolidated center will "foster fruitful collaboration, accelerate projects as well as new product and technologies launches, supporting Essilor's mission to improve lives by improving sight."

"Vision is our most important sense and plays an essential role in our lives," Hubert Sagnières, chairman and CEO of Essilor, said in the release. "The new center is a powerful platform for developing tomorrow's lenses, materials and coatings that will open new perspectives in term of vision correction and protection and take up the challenge of prevention and visual health."

Essilor noted in the release that it currently has two other Innovation and Technology Centers, which are located in Dallas and Singapore.
