SpecialEyes announced the release of its fully customizable 54 multifocal contact lens.

The press release stated that any base curve, diameter, sphere/cylinder power and axis measurement can be utilized on the lens and that it offers the same parameter range as its toric contact lens. Base curves of 6.9 mm to 9.5 mm and diameter of 12.5 mm to 16 mm are available in 0.1-mm increments. Spheres of +25 D to -25 D, cylinder of -0.5 D to -8.0 D and add power up to +4 D are available in 0.1-D increments. Any axis is available, in 1-degree increments. Optic zones of 8 mm to 10 mm are available in 0.5-mm increments. Prisms of 1.0 to 4.0 prism diopters base down are available.

Other customizable options include center-zone size and type, the rate of power progression and the distance at which full power is reached in the periphery, the company said.
