NEW YORK – Shamir announced new products including an eye care practice tool at its press conference today at Vision Expo East.

The company has launched a new web application for eye care practitioners, Shamir’s Lens Wizard, which allows ODs to connect with their patients in a new way. The application is used at the dispensing level and encompasses a questionnaire for patients that determines what lens is best suited for their unique needs and lifestyle, according to Shamir’s director of marketing, Candace Keating.

The application can be added to the practice website with an HTML code, or patients can access the application directly from Shamir’s website.

Shamir Duo is the company’s first bifocal lens, according to a company press release, which has no visible line division typical with flat-top bifocals. The new product has a distortion-free vision path, which is more natural for the wearer and more aesthetically pleasing.

Shamir also announced its newest Freeform sun designs, Attitude III – Fashion, Attitude III – Sport and Attitude III – SV. Each design utilizes Shamir’s proprietary designs including “Natural Posture” and “IntelliCorridor.”
