Sauflon to bring silicone hydrogel daily disposables to US

Silicone hydrogel daily disposable contact lenses will now be sold in the U.S., according a press release.

Sauflon, a British company and global manufacturer of contact lenses and aftercare solutions, announced Monday that it is entering the U.S. market with its Clariti 1 Day contact lenses.

The disposable contact lenses are currently sold in the U.K.

“The daily disposable market is the fastest growing segment in the U.S. and the ‘affordable innovation’ of Clariti 1 Day silicone hydrogel contact lenses will now allow eye care practitioners to upgrade more patients to the safest, healthiest and most convenient contact lens modality at little or no additional cost,” Brad Jones, Sauflon president of U.S. sales and marketing, said in the release.

A company representative told Primary Care Optometry News that Sauflon expects the lenses to be available in the U.S. by March 1.
