Adlens introduces adjustable progressive lens
LAS VEGAS — Adlens unveiled the Adlens Focuss, an instantly adjustable progressive design, at a press conference here at Vision Expo West.
Users turn a dial on the side of the frame to adjust the lens through a range of customized prescriptions, from distance to intermediate to reading, according to a company press release.
Graeme Mackenzie, OD, told attendees at the press conference that 6% of patients cannot adapt to standard progressive-addition lenses because of new behavior they have to learn involving new eye and head movements. With variable power optics, wearers can adjust the lenses for their work distance.
Adlens CEO and executive chairman Michael C. Ferrara announced at the press conference an exclusive partnership with LensCrafters to distribute the lenses in the U.S. Ferrara said a test phase will take place now through April 15.
Adlens Focuss will be available in three styles and six finishes and colors, according to a company press release.
Ferrara noted that the glasses will retail for between $500 and $700.
