Adlens has announced that it will be working in cooperation with the American Diabetes Association to communicate with diabetes centers, hospitals and doctors across the country about variable focus eye wear as a safe solution for managing vision complications caused by diabetes, according to a company press release.

With a pair of Adlens glasses, focus can be adjusted to fit near, intermediate or distance vision requirements in a matter of minutes, offering a short-term solution for shifting vision often experienced by diabetic patients, the release said.

“Our cooperative venture with the American Diabetes Association highlights the ability of this technology to make a substantial impact on people’s day-to-day lives,” Michael C. Ferrara, CEO and executive chairman of Adlens, said in the release. “We believe our technology is a game-changer, and our mission is to raise awareness about its potential on a global scale. Joining with the American Diabetes Association is another critical step in that process.”
