ATLANTA – Costa’s Rx division announced here at SECO the launch of its C-Scape progressive to accommodate the distance vision needs of water sports and outdoors enthusiasts.

Costa’s C-Scape technology “widens the field of view from left to right and enhances peripheral vision to create” a clear Rx sun lens, according to a company press release. “The entire lens is engineered for optimal clarity and viewing, not just parts of it.”

Costa said this new lens builds on the company’s 580 lens technology, which eliminates reflected glare and haze while enhancing color, contrast and definition.

A company representative told Primary Care Optometry News that Costa now has an in-house lab to assure quality, and this new lens is just part of Costa’s growing prescription lens program.

According to the press release, Costa’s Waypoint digital processing technology is specifically designed to eliminate the blurry edges that can bother those who wear wrap sunglasses. The process incorporates the behavior patterns of the wearer, the high base curve of wrap lenses and specific frame data.
