Keeler introduces new portable slit lamp
ATLANTA – Keeler Instruments Inc. announced the availability of its new portable slit lamp, the PSL One, designed specifically for optometrists, at a press conference here at SECO.
“We’ve geared the PSL One specifically towards optometry, eliminating features from the PSLClassic, like the 16x zoom, that typically optometrists don’t have much need for, to make it a more palatable price point,” Cynthia Kozak, Southeast Regional Sales Manager for Keeler, said.
The PSL One features a 10x magnification system, controllable halogen illumination system, fixation targets and a 1-mm square light patch for assessing anterior chamber flare, according to a company press release.
The slit lamp also features a 1x1, 0.15, 0.5, 0.8, 1.6 and 12 mode slit wheel and filter wheel that includes red free, blue, neutral density (0.8) and clear filters, the release said.
An aluminum carrying case and an Apple iPhone 4 imaging adapter are available as accessories for the PSL One, said the release.
According Kozak, the new product gives optometrists the ability to examine patients who cannot get behind a slit lamp.
