LAS VEGAS – Zeal Optics announced here at Vision Expo West the appointment of its new president, John Sanchez.

Sanchez joined Maui Jim, parent company of Zeal Optics, after a long career in the sports and eye wear business. He worked for Bausch + Lomb early in his career and also developed keratoconus after years of boxing. According to a company press release, he “has had a corneal transplant and the luxury of gaining a full understanding of high-end optics and their benefit to eyesight.”

Zeal also introduced Hyperion dark grey, a new digital Rxable lens designed for the company’s active and lifestyle collections.
