Transitions offers educational quiz two contests
LAS VEGAS – Transitions Optical Inc. introduced three new programs for eye care professionals and students here at Vision Expo West.
A 10-question quiz on multicultural knowledge is available for eye care professionals through the Transitions Cultural Connections program. The free quiz, Are You Prepared?, focuses on eye health, cultural and linguistic considerations for growing ethnic groups in the U.S. The quiz gives eye care professionals information and tips to serve culturally diverse patients and is available at MyMulticulturalToolkit.com/Quiz.
The company also provides a program for optical students to submit a 1- to 3-minute video on the Transitions 2012 Student Showcase YouTube page describing ways they will enhance vision for patients. Students can submit their videos until Oct. 31, and finalists will be chosen based on the number of “likes” the video receives. Winners will be announced by Jan. 31, 2013.
Transitions is now accepting nominations for its Human Resources Visionary of the Year award through Oct. 28. HR professionals can be self-nominated or nominated by a vision plan representative for candidates that promote healthy sight to employees through vision care benefits and employee education. The winners will be announced in December.
