LAS VEGAS – Here at Vision Expo West, Kowa released AP 7000, its new automatic perimeter that allows the clinician to apply static perimetry results to a retinal image, including fundus photos, optical coherence tomography or scanning laser ophthalmoscope.

Company representatives told Primary Care Optometry News that the instrument uses kinetic perimetry; the fixation light begins outside the peripheral vision, and the patient pushes the button when he or she sees it.

The display capabilities of the AP 7000 include a visual field of analytical results and indices, chronological change display and a tabbed user interface. It also offers the isopter with auto and manual options.
