SALT LAKE CITY — Here at Optometry's Meeting, Vistakon announced the launch of a new radio program devoted to educating and improving the eye health of Americans.

Healthy Vision With Dr. Val Jones, supported by Acuvue contact lenses, seeks to educate the public with timely and relevant information and helpful resources to help them manage eye health for themselves and their families and change their attitudes about eye care, according to a Vistakon press release.

"Research shows that many people share the misguided belief that seeing well translates to good eye health," program host Val Jones, MD, chief executive officer of Better Health and author of "Dr. Val and the Voice of Reason," said in a Vistakon press release. "As a result, they often don't see an eye care professional regularly or take the necessary steps to protect their eyes from things like UV damage."

Leading experts from around the country will join Dr. Jones in her first installment to discuss what is in an eye exam, contact lens compliance and protecting your eyes from the sun.
