NEW YORK — Essilor introduced ECP University at an Essilor-sponsored press conference held during International Vision Expo.

ECP University is an online training center designed to grow eye care practitioners' businesses through staff development. Its features include more than 80 online courses, a New Dispenser Quick Start program and the Apollo program for advanced dispensing professionals, according to a company press release.

"It's like having another manager in the practice," Essilor of America vice president of customer development, Howard B. Purcell, OD, FAAO, said at the press conference.

Pre-assessments allow dispensers to customize plans that meet their current level of experience. Practice owners and managers can oversee all user activity and delegate, assign and track staff enrollment and course progress.

Courses offered have COPE, ABOC and NCLC accreditation, Dr. Purcell added.
