SALT LAKE CITY — Bausch + Lomb celebrated the 1-year anniversary of the launch of Biotrue multipurpose contact lens solution here at Optometry's Meeting with the release of U.S. survey data. Ninety-seven percent of 201 patients who tried Biotrue and 99% of eye care professionals who recommended it said they were satisfied with the solution.

"We studied what the eye does naturally to clean, hydrate and keep itself healthy to provide contact lens wearers with a unique new solution to make wearing contact lenses easier on the eyes," Mohinder Merchea, OD, PhD, MBA, FAAO, FBCLA, director, medical Affairs - Vision Care, North America, Bausch + Lomb, said in a company press release.

Laboratory testing also showed that with the minimum recommended soak time of 4 hours, Biotrue disinfected effectively. Even with organic soil added to create a more rigorous condition, Biotrue showed exceptional disinfection efficacy, according to the release.
