PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. — The Wave Contact Lens System has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval for overnight wear of its custom orthokeratology lenses, according to a company press release. Wave's custom lenses are fitted to each patient's cornea, the specific shape acquired straight from the practitioner's topographer going to Wave's lathes.

Multifocal, keratoconus, toric and semi-scleral lens designs are also available using Wave's patented method.

The lenses function as a design partner under the Bausch + Lomb Vision Shaping Treatment program. Wave offers training, video clinical support, patient referrals, free topographers to users and a robust online community of fellow fitters at www.wavecontactlenses.com.
